AI vs Human Crop Rotation Planning

AI vs Human Crop Rotation Planning

Compare traditional crop rotation plans with AI-optimised alternatives. This simulator illustrates how data-driven planning can improve soil health and productivity.

What Is This Tool and How Does It Work?

This simulator compares your traditional crop rotation plan with a model AI-optimised rotation. Its purpose is to show how AI can improve long-term soil health, yield sustainability, and pest control through more balanced crop sequencing.

Simulated Case Example:

A farmer rotates wheat, then barley, then fallow land. The AI model suggests a 5-year cycle: legumes, leafy greens, fruit crops, root crops, then cereals—helping restore nutrients, minimise disease cycles, and maintain productivity.

In real life, AI would analyse historical yields, soil test results, pest pressures, and local climate data to recommend optimal crop sequences year by year.

How to Use It

  1. Enter your existing crop rotation plan in the text area (e.g. Year 1: Wheat, Year 2: Barley…).
  2. Click “Compare with AI Plan” to view a simulated, more diverse and data-informed rotation.
  3. Use Clear to reset and test other strategies.

This tool illustrates how digital agronomy can guide better long-term decisions, reduce soil fatigue, and support regenerative farming.
